COP28 is set to take place in Dubai from November 30th to December 12th. It’s the 28th annual gathering of the Conference of the Parties (COP), a key forum for global climate change discussions and decisions. Governments and observer organisations participate in negotiations to assess progress in the collective efforts to combat climate change.
The Paris Agreement, a landmark accord from COP21 in 2015, remains a pivotal framework for international climate action. It aims to limit global temperature increases to below 2 degrees Celsius, with an ambitious target of 1.5 degrees Celsius, compared to pre-industrial levels. Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) form a critical aspect, with each country outlining specific commitments and strategies to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
As COP28 approaches, expectations are high for leaders to make bold commitments and take decisive actions to tackle the urgent climate crisis. The outcomes of this conference will likely shape global responses to climate change in the coming years. It is a crucial moment for nations to collaborate, strengthen their climate goals, and collectively work towards a more sustainable and resilient future for our planet. Keep an eye out for updates and outcomes from COP28 as leaders convene to address the critical challenges posed by climate change.
CO28 includes all areas of sustainability that climate education focuses on local sustainable food, our natural environment, sustainable travel & health, zero waste & sustainable living, and zero carbon & climate change.

This period gives us the opportunity to zoom out and think about all the goals we are aiming to achieve and to help remind us of the why. Without engagement at local levels, the national and international goals would be unachievable.
