Climate Education are thrilled to announce that Bar Hill Primary School in Cambridge was selected as the winner of this fantastic prize, valued at over £900. Their growing tower complete with seeds, accessories, and everything needed to begin growing arrived at the school this month. It was greeted with enthusiasm by the school’s Eco Champions, who were eager to bring this innovative learning experience to life.
The Growing Tower will transform learning across the school and beyond. Students will be able to engage directly with the future of food production through hands-on, immersive activities. By growing fresh produce right in their classroom, they can deepen their understanding of the science of food production, the importance of sustainability, and the benefits of local and seasonal food.
And the impact doesn’t stop there. The abundant harvests produced by the tower will enrich lessons on healthy eating, nutrition, and food education empowering young people to make informed, sustainable choices for years to come.
